Khairabad is a historic town in the Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh state of India. Khairabad is famous for the world class hand woven durry (Mat) and the town has been the abode of many Urdu and Hindi writers, poets and shayars. The famous poets(shayars)- like Riyaz Khairabadi, Muztar Khairabadi, Waseem Khairabadi, Aseem Khairabadi, Jan Nisar Akhtar (Father of Javed Akhtar – well known hindi writer and lyricist) ,Sabit Khairabadi, Jumbish Khairabadi, Sajid Khairabadi and Dr.Aziz Khairabadi.

Interesting thing is that initially Dr Aziz Khairabadi completed his Masters in Hindi and English language. Later he has successfully completed his M.Phil and PhD in “Hindi Ramkatha”. As an author he has written several compositions in poetry and prose, to name few he has written727 dohe in Hindi, around 161 gazals in Urdu language.” “EK gazal aur sahi” is in most famous poetic form.

He has participated in various kavi samelan and mushayara also and has been honoured by numerous awards.
